WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT AND MY SURGERY?
There are hundreds of insurance plans, and the safest and best way to know for sure if Drs. Huntington are in your insurance network is to call your insurance provider and ask!
As of July 2020, Drs. Huntington contract with most plans of the following commercial and government insurances:
Blue Cross of Idaho
Mountain Health CoOp
Regence Blue Shield of Idaho
St Luke's Health Partners
Please double check with your insurance company for the most up-to-date information!
If you are specifically referred to Drs Huntington by an in-network doctor, some out of network insurance companies will honor that referral, even if you are out of network.
Please read here for your federal rights in accordance with the No Surprise Billing act.
Insurance plans and networks change frequently, so remember to call your insurance provider to double check your benefits BEFORE your visit.
DO YOU OFFER FINANCING OPTIONS?
Absolutely. Many of our patients are out-of-network or are uninsured. Even for patients with insurance, in today's health care climate, their deductibles can be many thousands of dollars.
Huntington Laparoscopy is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care. Our billing service, On Demand, is responsive to patient's individual situations.
For self pay patients or patients covered by out-of-network insurance plans who are planning to have an elective procedure, we are happy to provide a good faith estimate of the surgeon fees prior to surgery. Huntington Laparoscopy will do our best to provide an estimate of the surgeon fees based on the surgery planned. Please see more information on the Federal No Surprise Act here.
DO I NEED AUTHORIZATION FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR MY SURGERY?
Once the surgeon has seen you and recommended a certain procedure, the Huntington Laparoscopy office staff will investigate whether prior authorization is required and submit any required paperwork on your behalf. Every insurance plan & surgery is different in this regard.
If prior authorization is required by your insurance companies, some insurance companies take up to 2 weeks to respond to the authorization request.

WHAT IF MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS OUT OF NETWORK WITH HUNTINGTON LAPAROSCOPY?
If an in-network physician specifically referred you to the doctors at Huntington Laparoscopy, you should ask your insurance company if they will consider covering your visit as "in-network."
Some insurance companies offer out-of-network coverage & benefits. After consultation with a surgeon who may recommend a specific surgery, Huntington Laparoscopy will provide you with an estimate of the surgeon fees and will often discount our fees to allow our out-of-network patients to access care. Surgeon fees make up only a small part of a surgery bill though. Though most hospitals, anesthesiologists, etc accept most insurances, be sure to check with your insurance provider if you are uncertain of your coverage benefits!

Patients have several options:
