HUNTINGTON LAPAROSCOPY

Serving Southern Idaho with Compassionate Surgical Care

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Updated 11/13/2020

Unfortunately, Idaho has seen an unprecedented rise in Coronavirus-19 cases this November, and the rates of infection and hospitalization in southern Idaho are rising rapidly.

In response, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, has suspended most elective surgery cases effective Nov 16.  Life threatening cases such as cancer surgeries are still proceeding for now. This elective surgery "pause" is unlikely to be lifted until 2021. Some simple surgeries that do not require an overnight stay are being permitted for now. We do not know when the majority of elective surgeries will be allowed again at St. Luke's-- much of this depends on if Idahoans can stop the rampant spread of the virus through our state. Hospital beds are being filled with victims of the virus, which means elective surgeries are not appropriate or possible.

Please do your part to STOP THE SPREAD by staying home when able, social distancing, washing your hands frequently, avoiding indoor gatherings, and most importantly, wearing a mask when in public. Our health care teams, our patients, and their families are relying on our community to be selfless and protect each other from this virus.

Our clinic is still open, though we are limited in what surgeries can be scheduled due to the pandemic.

When visiting our clinic:

  • Must wear a mask at all times

  • You may bring ONE support person with you. No children please.

  • Routine postoperative or preoperative visits may be conducted via telehealth

  • If you are sick or have a possible Covid 19 exposure, please call us and postpone your appointment!

  • All waiting areas and exam rooms are being thoroughly disinfected between patients

  • If you are having surgery, you will be required to have a Covid 19 test about 48-72 hours prior to arrival at the hospital.

Please call our office to reschedule your appointment or surgery if you are feeling sick or are exposed to someone you suspect may have Covid-19.
